Introduction

All above photos and videos show our most recent finalized farm after 6 years of operating. Many people don't get to see the process of how we became the most popular petting zoo in Kelowna and how everything looked at the beginning. We started as a empty piece of land on the Don-O-Ray Market's property and brought our unique ideas to life with only 4 sets of hands: My parents, my brother, and myself. Of course, we couldn't have done it without many people helping us along the way, but when I say we built this land from the ground up, I mean it literally.
My roles in the following projects were painting and staining buildings, screwing and nailing boards, assisting in construction, and coming up with solutions and new creations.

In 2018, we started our petting zoo in a tent with baby animals, but they quickly outgrew this space.

Fall 2018 my brother and father built a bunny house large enough to accommodate guests and our rabbits.

During the fall in 2018, they finished inside of bunny house. In 2023, I assisted in replacing the floor with tiling and staining the wood walls brown.

Finished external of bunny house photographed in 2023. I assisted in painting the inside and outside of the buildings as well as repairing the wire fencing.

Added a gravel path in 2022 to make the farm accessible to all wheelchairs and strollers.

I came up with the noodle house idea in 2018 when the first prototype was created by my father and brother. I helped spray UV protectant and tie the pool noodles up for the second rendition in 2021. This is one of the favourite stops in our hedge maze attraction.

In 2023 we dug up a 350 ft long trench for a waterline since we had no running water throughout winter before this. The farm was running off a hose from the market's irrigation and during the winter when it was too cold to use the hose, we had to carry buckets of water to each animal every day.

My roles were hand digging around electrical and irrigation pipes, packing sand around the new water pipes, assisting in gluing pipes together, and miscellaneous construction tasks.

In preparation for our Halloween event, I drew the designs on this book for decoration in the witches hut in 2022.

I also helped come up with these funny book titles.

That's me on the roof assisting in constructing our witch hut for Halloween. I stained wood, air nailed, drilled, stapled, and decorated the building.

The final witch hut finished in 2023

Our goat pen needed a fencing upgrade since goats are very destructive. This photo was taken in 2023 right before I knocked the fencing down.

My brother and I installed the chain-link fencing ourselves, by cutting posts to size, pouring concrete for the posts, and stretching chain-link while tying it in place.

I assisted in assembling the gazebo and patio stones. I leveled out the gravel, carried patio stones, helped assemble the store bought gazebo from instructions, and mounted the roof.
